Underachievement Unlocked

My life: a lot of potential and very little realization.

Very few posts on this blog, as well. But you might find some entertaining stuff if you go back a few years in the archives.

What does it look like to have three 1280x1024 screens?

Click the picture to see full-size (440 KB).

From left to right: the Windows XP taskbar, with PopTray checking e-mail, Miranda for ICQ, Motherboard Monitor to check on the CPU’s temperature (it went over 50° C last night because I turned on the second heater so I’d wake up earlier — that worked, thanks) and Pop-Down to close Explorer’s popups; Y’z Dock (no link, development halted due to an Apple cease-and-desist letter) with shortcuts to all the important folders on my computer; my hand-made PHP calendar and notes-taking utility on Active Desktop; all my file management windows; the center screen with Firebird (haven’t installed Firefox yet, I don’t feel like it), Eudora or any other application, and ObjectDock below; the Miranda chat windows; Code-Genie for HTML and PHP editing; Araneae (recently installed, not necessarily definitive as the non-standard keyboard shortcuts are a really pain) for my blog and work notes. The desktop is rather clear when it comes to icons: on the far left what’s very temporary and is supposed to be processed shortly, on the right the permanent shortcuts and some frequently used files.

The whole thing is obviously using Windowlinds and WindowFX, for the compulsory OS X-like windows (modified by me because I find square corners… cleaner, I’d say) and shadows (which become absolutely vital as soon as you’ve had them for five minutes).
