New home page, obviously inspired by Lifeblog. Let’s say it’s… experimental. We’ll see how it works out. (Right now it’s not looking the way it should: the idea is, there’ll be a real thumbnail image for each article.)

This version also makes a bigger use of the Javascript stuff I introduced earlier today: posts will now open in the pseudo-popup, but permalinks are still accessible.

As I said, we’ll see how it works, and I’m waiting for your comments.

P.S. It took me less time than expected to code a little program that creates thumbnails automatically from screen captures (I thought the hardest part would be selecting an area with the mouse, but it was actually the simplest). So each post on the home page now has its little picture.

As a result, it lacks a more apparent hierarchy, something to distinguish photolog entries from simple links. I’ll think about that.
